Re: Some SYW Additions: British Cavalry & More Swiss

I'll give it some thought! Here's a central motif for the British version; the King's travelling commode, no frills or fripperies (or hard to clean fabric); just well varnished and easy to clean on campaign (not by the King himself, obviously; another job for the Groom). :-) This is getting very si...

Re: SYW French on the march

Replacing flags isn't that hard. I'm a bit of an expert at making mistakes with them so having had to replace several, I know. A sharp scalpel, run down the pole, removes them quickly & cleanly. donald Good to know that, Donald. I have some Crimean War troops who will need some remedial flag wo...

Re: Some SYW Additions: British Cavalry & More Swiss

Wonderful units! :-) Wish I had the time and energy to do some British cavalry standards - but hopefully I will eventually... Cheers, David. Well you did the speculative guidons for the Legion Britannique; that's 99% of the work done for most of 'em! As you've said though, it's a lot of work for so...

Re: SYW French on the march

May I nit-pick slightly and point out that on image fa11 the central flags (of La Sarre, I think) have the colonel's flag upside down, as the shading suggests! You may, but be prepared to be kept busy as fixing flags upside down is something of a regular occurrence on here. Just sayin'..... Ha ha! ...

Re: Some new Spencer Smiths

A good looking unit, Willz. :-) Reminds me I have a few of the Charles VI-Maria Theresa flags still to do, including one that seems to be a so-called Hungarian flag although the Triomphes Louis XV depicts the field in blue, not green!

Cheers,

David.
