Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

I’m sure you’re right Paul. Fortunately I only paid for the 15 minute argument with you as all my money is tied up in KS.

Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

Outside of the current temporary peak in interest rates, that won’t ask for more than £100 and return your money within 6-12 months?

Please do

Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

I’m not giving investment advice, but I’d love to see your broker who will take your £50-£100 (average price of a KS) and give you more than 5% when investing it for 3-12 months (average period of the current KS timelines)

Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

Because they are getting your money in advance, along with the opportunity to invest it and earn interest (which I no longer have for that same money). I don’t think you know many small wargames businesses. They aren’t investing your money, they’re paying rent, buying stock, paying sculptors. And e...

Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

Why should the producer carry the costs for risks over which they have no control? Why should the buyer cover the risks instead of the Producer? In a lot of cases, the producer has as they have already spent costs of figure design, mould costs etc. Most times the costs they’ve already sunk in far o...

Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

But then wait for it to be released in the store? It is your decision to invest. Not the sellers. Why should the producer carry the costs for risks over which they have no control? I might be tempted to agree with you if it was a big corporation doing it. But often these are little producers and the...

The purchaser is well aware of the risks in advance. I’m not convinced that translates into a discount.

Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

I think this one was about 5% - I was immediately struck by how stingey it was. Why should you get a discount? You’re buying a product. When you buy tickets to a concert, you pay in advance and get no discount. Most supermarket reward cards where you pay in advance is around 5%. And 5% is a better ...

Re: A notice from Mr Spencer Smith ....

I think the original idea of KS is great. Help a small business bring a dream to life by giving them money. Sure there’s risk, but you know that up front. Sadly KS has been abused and is now largely a preorder system. Even worse, it’s used by exiting large organisations as a risk reduction mechanism...
