Re: Ayton November 2023

As you have said, you and I are doing the shiny ACW on Friday, I am more than happy to get some "What a Cowboy" action going on the Sunday, nothing planned for the Saturday, but if there is any interest I am quite happy to serve up some "Laserblade" Sci Fi skirmish action. Nice, ...

Re: Penda's Crimean War Project

I'm sure those are the figures I painted years ago for Tim's 19thC Ayton game. Absolutely gorgeous figures but loads of worms on the castings......kept finding them as I was painting. Best wishes for the project. Looking good. E They are the same figures Iain, although yours are embracing their new...

Re: Spencer Smith ACW

What a splendid sight, all the better for knowing that they are all the work of our very gifted EB. (Except the mounted general, and I have had harsh words with him on that score.) I am really enjoying our foray into the "retro" look.

Re: Ayton November 2023

My vote would be to try something different at the Lodge. EB and I have had two Friday games there now, and they were both fine. Plenty of room and the tables are more than adequate. Plus the price on this occasion is attractive. But I will go with the majority.

Stretch the budget and get Jonnie Depp, otherwise the film will lack credibility.
So far Mark Addy is in the running, and there's always Christopher Biggins.

Re: Ayton November 2023

If the dates were changed: Some of those coming might not be able to make the new dates; If the intention was to change for greater attendance than that would bring the hall back into play again and we'd end up going on circles. At the moment I think we have workable numbers (8-10), an essentially ...

In a word yes Andy, I don't think they will consider closing that room to other guests for the whole weekend. That said it is another possible option to explore. It will depend on just how co-operative the Lodge is going to be. To be looked into.

Re: Ayton November 2023

Don't panic right away chaps. We might be able to attract more people. Let's give it a couple of weeks. It's just a case of laying out some options for now.

Re: Ayton November 2023

The situation is currently thus, counting me, at present we have 6 attendees. A change of dates is not an option now. But unless we get a minimum of 12 it is not going to be viable, and a cancellation might ensue. This is not a criticism of anybody, I fully understand that people have prior commitme...
