Well the quest for a shade of orange was proving troublesome and tbh the idea of Essex's troops in orange was just for fun. In order not to derail the whole project I shall set them aside for now and concentrate on my force for the Earl of Orpington, his men have coats of a sensible blue-grey.

Have you consulted with Andy on the blue component of this grey?

No point, they're all wrong. I may do some of the britches in VJ French Mirage Blue, which is grey.

There is some primary documentation to suggest that "powder blue" cloth was quite commonly supplied for uniforms, especially in the West Country. So Buff would appear to be fairly contemporary.

There is a bloke on PMT who actually understands dies and fixers. He's fascinating. Mind you, my idea of hell is getting stuck between him and Andy on a 20 hr flight.

There's never a suicide bomber around when you actually need one, is there?

I've had a few flights where I'd have opened the door and let them out if I'd been in an exit row.
