Thanks J. and a yes to the hills. It's gonna be a large table and we never have enough of those. If you could include your deserty game mats as well that would be great.

Cheers dude, yes to all the above. Thank you.goat major wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 9:06 am I am bringing 30 points of Afghan's. We are goodies.
I can also offer about 4 units of afghan style tribesmen if that helps
Scenery - got a few adobe buildings, temple and bits and bobs of scatter scenery + city/fort walls. Youve seen all these before i think Tim

Dave, that all sounds excellent. I'd far rather have more than not enough. Thank you old chap.World2dave wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:13 am I will bring 30 points of Medetian naval landing party/marines, plus boats.
I can also bring 30 points of Corsair/Arab types and/or another 30 point European regular force if anyone needs to borrow.
I have some decent sized pieces that can be used as harbour walls, plus wooden jetties, more boats, sampans, and a couple of small ships, one zebec-style.

No problem bud, I was going to be bringing the Naps up and those boxes of jungle will be darn handy.

Gary, Three Brit forces in a Sudan style would be great. If you could include some cavalry with them as well. Perhaps a couple of Zulu type forces and a couple of Dervish groups as well. I think Jeremy has got a kraal, but deserty buildings would be good. The Rorke's Drift buildings might be a tad too big, perhaps just the one? Barricades are good, I have a few as well. Thank you.garyp wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 11:02 am I'm happy to lend British forces, either Zulu stuff or Sudan. I think I have enough to provide 3 30pt forces of each, maybe 4 each at a push. I have a fair few natives, probably enough for 5or 6 Zulu forces and 4 or 5 Mahdist.
I've also got Zulu huts, assorted Sudanese tribal buildings and could probably borrow the club's Zariba. I've also got a fair few mealie bag and biscuit box barricades and if we really need it I might be able to borrow the club's Isandlwana mountain!
With enough advance warning I could also assemble the Rorke's Drift buildings

Not too worried about matching Simon, I would spread them out. I have (somewhere) the three large sand coloured sheets we used for the first Byzarbia game as well, plus some of my own desert mats. Like I said, better too much than not enough.goat major wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 3:43 pm i do also have a desert 4x6 mat. Not sure if will match other people's mats though
If anybody has thoughts about a river I'm all ears. It's going to have stretch pretty much the entire length of the table I reckon. It seems a shame to ban boats just because a river is beyond our abilities.

For the river - would it work to do the old trick of leaving a gap between tables, with boats on 'floating' tables covered in blue cloth? I guess this might really only work for full-on 'Nile' type games.
Otherwise, some dark/blue/green/brown cloth cut to shape and placed on the desert cloths?

Yes, both things I have been considering Dave. There has been talk of some people bringing boats, I think Jamie has built a large one, and it would be good to include it. I was also thinking about a shaped river strip running down one table edge using material perhaps. I'd like it to look good, but need it to be fairly simple as opposed to a complex one off use piece of scenery.World2dave wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 4:03 pm For the river - would it work to do the old trick of leaving a gap between tables, with boats on 'floating' tables covered in blue cloth?
