Dark Woods and Frostbitten Fingers - FIW

Post by Paul »

The first run out of my FIW rules.
A French camp is coming under attack by a British raid.

The protagonists: A French regular unit of 8 figures and 2 of Natives, six figures each.

2 Units of British Light Infantry each with two Native Scouts and a Unit of Colonial Militia

The French and Allies defending their camp

One of the units of French Allied Natives bursts from the woodline, only to be cut down by musket fire from one unit of Lights and the Militia. The two remaining fled back through the wood and went to ground, only to think better of their involvement and flee the battlefield the following turn.

On the left flank a unit of Light Infantry faces of against the other unit of French Allies and exchanges fire through a gulley
Image

Pushing through the wood into the French camp the first unit of British Lights forces the French Officer to split his regular unit and face off against them. But he is wounded and one of his men killed.

Another round of musket fire kills the Officer and his unit flees, leaving behind a wounded man and one soldier cowering in fear, who are both captured. Effectively ending the game.

Lovely figures and terrain, Paul. Very impressive.
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
