I will be sending rules out to the shield bashers over the next couple of days.
The lists are a work in progress so feel free to comment and negotiate etc...
Games Schedule
Saturday PM will be a prologue game that will see the uneasy allies King Kenacus (Marshalney) and King Timimir (Tim W.) come to blows.
King Kenacus army is from the Sub roman list and King Timimir's force is from the Goth List.
Sunday Am will see two one on one games.
Game 1: King Garnod (Gary, Early Saxons) vs King Timimir
Game 2: King Kenacus vs King Utta (Paul, Early Saxons)
Sunday PM will be a doubles game and will be:
The Winner of Game 1 and Loser from Game 2 vs Winner from Game 2 and Loser from Game 1
In this way the New Over King will be the only player who won both their games.
I am still undecided as to whether to run the games as "play 'til you die" games or use objectives and Victory points etc...

All sounds exciting.
I'm still painting my lads.

No worries, keep me Informed.
I have plenty of Sub Roman Brits to fill in any gaps
Re: Shield Bashing 2024
Excellent.
Re: Shield Bashing 2024
I have Emailed the rules and lists out to everyone involved.
I did notice that the Email preview seems to have done strange things with the formatting or the Word Document. If you can't print it out so it looks right (ie the Page numbers on the contents page aren't level) then I'll bring some extra copies.
The content should all be there but might need some deciphering if the format is wrong on your versions of word!

Re: Shield Bashing 2024
The rain had forced it’s way through the broken tiles on the roof, making dark patches on the unswept mosaic floor that in places developed the soft sheen of a burgeoning pool.
Kenacus emerged from his chambers, bleary eyed and breakfastless after the previous nights revelries, adjusting his long robe he demanded of the household interloper,
“What are you doing here and at this hour of the morning?”
Whilst the servants, warriors and minor nobles, in the Villas receiving room, looked uneasy at his outburst, especially considering that morning was long past, the short, broad man causing the disturbance remained unflinching.
“The Lord Timimir has sent me with a message….”
The man paused for a response that was not forthcoming.
“….We have word that Garnod and Utta have crossed the Vedratin with dozens of Warriors”
The old King stood for a second blankly listening to the words. Swaying slightly he came to lucidity with a start:
“Wait” he spat, punctuating his speech to give his thoughts time to catch up with his intention.
“Guinnein, please tell the Master of Horse to bring me a mount, I must go and take in this great host for myself” he ended with a mocking chuckle.
King Kenacus of the Britons awaits his mount.
