Right oh. This is important.......

I've had a chat with our leader, Mr Peeler, and we agree that it wouldn't be fair on other potential users of the village hall if we booked the hall now only to cancel later in the year. It's right and proper to have a cut off date for our deliberations so, if only to maintain good relations with the hall's committee......

Unless there are sufficient definite attendees by 31 May, the hall booking will be cancelled. All is not lost however. The Breakfast Room of the Lodge is available for free on the Friday and Saturday, as is the Nook on the Sunday. So something will take place over the weekend.

"Up north" indeed.....more like 'next door'.

Good to know you can make it.

It's a nightmare, isn't it.

The Lodge have promised to do 10% cheaper than a Booking.Com booking, so my advice is to get the B.C price and then approach the Lodge.

I've booked four nights through B.C at a cost of £441 and I'll be emailing the lodge on Tuesday for a better price. My B.C deal is for a room in the main building, with breakfast and can be cancelled up to mid November......I'll expect the same, or very similar, from the Lodge plus the 10%.

There are cheaper prices on B.C, for instance by staying in the annex and with less options on cancellation and breakfast.

It sounds like the hotel in Seamer (your comment on the Ayton 2025 thread refers) is a good deal......and it's only two miles from the Lodge....30 minute walk with your long legs.

A taxi from Ayton to Seamer might be about £15, because they charge as coming from Scarborough apparently. And yes, there is the Wicker Man to consider. Though the Ayton Butcher is no longer an issue.
