Good point, Stu, Mr Hilton gives me the impression that he's a thoroughly decent chap with a deep love of the period.

The original BLB was based on the old Peter Gilder WHC Marlburian rules. Played a few games of BLB and it worked quite well for the GNW.

Just took delivery of both WoTK and With Talon and Claw...

I shall report back after a read through and some much needed pints.

I met him very briefly at Claymore and I would reinforce that impression :)

Precious little painting getting done here on board the HMS Priapus these days, but have been enjoying the WoTK and WT&C. The rules look fairly straightforward, I'm a believer in playing through before commenting too extensively, but they appear as tho they'd yield an enjoyable game.

WT&C I am finding very informative. Loaded with good information, in my opinion, not being as knowledgable about 17th c Eastern Europe as I'd like. Believe it's a good addition to the library, so recommend it enthusiastically.

I wonder if these might provide a reasonably quick game for my 20mm at Ayton (should the game go ahead of course). I would need to know that a game could be played out in three hours...ish.
