It sounds a good idea, I'm just not fanatical enough.

Would be great for campaigns etc - as a run up to the actual battle. I do believe with some systems there is a facility for players on one side to conference. You could plan moves etc then umpire could see how it all pans out on what troops arrive and when on the battlefield.

Down to four openings left for this (unless we receive more offers to run games). Currently 6 on offer: Infamy!, CoC, 2 x SP2 and 2 x Dux Brit

It would be good to be able to watch something like this - just to see a game in play
I could sit in the cheap seats and panto style yell out "He's behind you or don't look in the bushes" every time an ambush looms.

It’s strange, I’ve had a lot of requests from people to sit in and view games, especially Infamy! Personally, I can’t think of anything worse to do. Ok, I can, but I still wouldn’t enjoy watching other people play a game.

I can imagine, a load of wargamers wanking off over a particulary good and unexpected flank attack.

You come across as a "doer" - which is great, all aspects of life need such folk - and I can see how you would find watching other people doing something (and possibly getting it wrong, or doing it badly) would frustrate you. However, I don't find it that surprising with a new ruleset that is a complete departure from normal Ancients rules, that people want to see it being played by someone knowledgeable before they commit. In the absence of anyone to actually come round to my house and show me how to play, I find it quite a good way to learn the basics of a ruleset (eg how you set up and kick off). The Lard TV Gembloux Gap and the Tabletop CP 51st HD CoC games are two series that spring instantly to mind as having been entertaining and useful - especially Richard showing us how best to deal with dice that won't behave!
