Hanover had Salic law, no choice in the matter.

Not entirely. Contrary to Irish mythology/favourite pub quiz questions, when the British royals stumped up their own cash for the Famine victims in 1845-46, the Elector of Hanover chipped in, too (to the tune of about £1M by today's values - same as all the adult British royals, except HMQ, who gave £3M).World2dave wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 9:03 am I was very disappointed to read that we stopped ruling Hanover in 1837 - as Grizz says we probably stopped giving a damn about them in return!
There was also a British-German (aka Anglo-German) Legion formed at the start of the Crimean War; at the end of the war it valiantly garrisoned Colchester and (even more valiantly) married local women, before being shipped off to the Cape of Good Hope.

That does look rather beautiful and oh so tempting Dave - small scale perfection.

well nearly 20 minutes have passed and Purps hasn't appeared to continue his fantasy claim that he is small scale perfection. The words of summoning must be losing their effect

My Great European wars are 1854, 1866, 1870, 1880, and 1900. Of course, in OTS many of the troops can be used for more than one.

You're a clever sod, Dave.
