Have you driven the road from South Fambridge to Burnham on Crouch? An insanity of 90 degree bends. I reckon the locals are having a laugh.....there are no straight roads.......bunch of drunks.Neanderthal wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 9:56 am The local saying goes "all straight roads lead to Dengie".
Perhaps the inhabitants are all teetotal?

I want it clearly noted I’m here at work and there are witnesses.

What, to your wearing of a gimp suit? I bet!Norman D. Landings wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 12:09 pm I want it clearly noted I’m here at work and there are witnesses.
Re: What's on your workbench?
But seriously, why are people surprised that someone from Essex would wear a gimp suit?
Re: What's on your workbench?
There you go again, off on another one of your geographical jaunts. I'm surprised you haven't drowned going from South Fambridge as it's over the other side of the River Crouch to Burnham and there are no bridges. However, North Fambridge is on the right side and the roads are almost Roman in their straightness. The reason I know this...I lived in Althorne for a while and once walked from North Fambridge to Althorne. This is why the drunken locals were laughing.Essex Boy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:41 amHave you driven the road from South Fambridge to Burnham on Crouch? An insanity of 90 degree bends. In your defence,, I will give you that after Althorne the road to Burnham has a few kinks in it...walked that one as well, and back along the railway line.

Actually, I wasn't thinking of one of the Fambridge's but rather South Woodham Ferrers. To be fair, it only takes a few minutes to drive from SFam to the bridge at Battlesbridge, and there are 14 ninety degree turns between SWF and Burnham and it's only ten miles. What were the Romans thinking?

I’ve been making most of my man flu by starting scratch building a Normandy barn.

That's a rather nifty piece of real estate and no mistake. Looking forward to seeing the finished article.
