Thanks for all the kind comments.

To be perfectly frank, I look at other people's Celts, painted in a more subdued colour palette, & think the "all-sorts" are a bit OTT.

Re; Marching fort: point taken about the barracks. I guess, as a Polybian construct, it's probably a bit anachronistic too.

The Gallic All Sorts sounds like a soccer team.

I wouldn't worry. It looks great. What's the source for the fort?

We had a very enjoyable game: the scenario was a type of Teutoberg Forest concept. The Romans had to traverse the board (hilly & forested) to reach the fort, whilst the Celts lay hidden in ambush. This was handled by map movement.
The ultimate goal:

The Romans were in two columns. The going was tough. Movement & visibility both limited the usual Roman superiority:

In spite of due vigilance the smaller Roman column was largely wiped out.

Ultimately, attacks broke out on all sides. Sadly, the main Romans were worn down & unable to reach the fort before nightfall.

Dead and worn down Romans? What's to be sad about?

Really, a first. The Gauls won largely by virtue of the scenario but a win is a win.
