I just use a spray on semi-gloss, which seems to work very well, and then the Tamiya matt varnish spray. Which works very well, and is available locally (when the games shops are open).

I was offered the option of a spray, but it seemed excessive just to apply a little smear in order to position a decal.
Anyway, having missed Germanuary, the Panzers will probably now be completed in "Marsch!" and Frogruary will see some French armour being assembled and - hopefully - tarted up instead. Also some French Peninsula infantry - spent today glueing on their backpacks (and heads in the case of the Warlord ones).
