Probably the best thing about the game was the space on the table to manoeuvre (and worry about when big gaps occurred). We started with half the troops on the table at the start, with reinforcements arriving on a card draw. It created a challenge for the players, who had to contend with uncertain arrivals and plugging gaps where they could, as opposed to the wall-to-wall, full initial deployments we've sometimes had in the past.
The plan is to adopt a similar approach at Ayton 2022.
