Just waiting for the temperature to nip above 10 degrees Celsius, so I can do a shed-load of spray-undercoating.

And put down some wrath-of-God weedkiller in the garden.

Don't get them mixed up because, whilst the weeds probably won't survive a solid cost of paint, the weedkiller is unlikely to privide a good surface for shading and highlighting.

Sound advice, Mr Panda. At least there's only one I can confuse with my drink - shame it's the weedkiller, but there you go (and the fact that it's in a 5-litre watering can won't necessarily help differentiate them, either).

I’ve been working on another terrain test. This time my own caulk based terrain mats.
This is a 6x5 with a small overlap for placing hills underneath.
Roads are all exiting the edges on 12 inch lines so in theory will match up with mats I make in the future - perhaps for Loose Ass Summer events.

In the last dry brushing stages now. Don’t worry, the black bits are being highlighted up with grey as they are rocky bits.
The smaller lanes between fields Are about a figure width just to add some field boundary definition. Will probably tone them down with some brown murky ink.
The dark splodge is a ploughed field that’s taking forever to dry.
It’s fully roll-able. It cost about £8 in caulk and the remainder of materials was left over from the towels boards.
I plan to do many more including standard green ones as I’ve knocked this out in around three days on And off.
May try and add more of a palette to really emphasise the differing fields in future ones.

Not a bad test, learnt a lot. This will get its first CoC at the weekend.

CB - sadly not. I think I will be single if I attempt this. Ayton 2019 - probably.

P - Squirt your acrylic caulk over your sheet, palette it around. Some people do this smooth, I did mine lumpy. cover it in sand and then rolling-pin it in. Then I paint like dave did his boards only with a real dark green instead of black. Then I stand back, look at all the mess and the mounting pile of jobs I should be doing.

GM - this is Outrageous. I am a keen and excellent lawnsman! When we moved in here there was noth8ng but weeds and rubbish. I have prepared the ground and I shall stand brazen in the garden and sow forth my seed when the time is right.
