Thanks for the brief, Paul, I don't know why I thought they'd be sartorially disadvantaged. Are the Count's troops in red because they're guards, or because someone had a load of red paint at a very good price?
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

I've got a painting guide (not written by me) for the Napoleonic period that I was going to republish but as I've not got the figure range remoulded yet it didn't seem worth doing and I found one recently covering the C18th.

Oh no! Don't try and tempt me with yet another SYW force. I've got too many unpainted bloody SYW figures as it is. But thanks for clearing it up, mate. It was one of those "Why did I think that?" moments.I've got a painting guide (not written by me) for the Napoleonic period that I was going to republish but as I've not got the figure range remoulded yet it didn't seem worth doing and I found one recently covering the C18th.
That would explain it, Fredd. Obviously piss-poor planning and preparation. No he had just ran out of Blue....

I thought perhaps a bad batch of vodka had damaged his eyesight and he thought it was blue.....

Just built and undercoated a 57mm gun and crew for my Yanks. Might just squeeze on last paint session in before the big box up. I got the kit and figures from Early War miniatures, they're expensive for the quality I think but I was limited in choice of American artillery if I wanted metal models.

The 'brothers' are having another of their days off today, so with nothing else to do I think it might be a good time to paint hussars.

They look spiffing when they're finished, but god do I look forward to the day when I never have to paint another hussar...
