Absolutely splendid stuff, there's nothing like the thin red line. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome, gentlemen.

The Highlanders are Warmodelling. Who most of my Peninsular British are AB, the Highlanders in that range seemed unusually small. And actually, the Portuguese artillerists are particularly large. In any event, I'm using my old school Old Glory (from the 90s) with AB and Warmodelling for the most part, tho usually keeping it to one manufacturer per unit.

Flags have been corrected since the photo - agree - white edged flags are the devil's work!

Since I tend to hold off on basing till I have a substantial amount of the same troops painted, this thread will have a certain WIP kind of vibe for the foreseeable future. That said, here's a few more shots of what I've been up to:

Broke out all my OG named commanders into vignettes. Way more command than I'll ever need at the same time, but why should that stop me?

Image

Close up of Lauriston (L) and the dude who did the bridging at the Berezina (R).

Image

Eventually they'll come together with a little landscaping like my Blucher base here (A few more details to add, I think) -

Image

Sum total of my Prussians at the moment. Starting with the skirmish bases on this army. Hugely enjoying GdA, if anyone is curious about my rules and basing...

Image

Spent most of the last year on Russians. I'll shoot the whole spread of them, and the French, at some point but for now, here's some select units. Limber and jaegers, in both summer and winter trousers. To keep them separated by their parent BDEs in the future for my cognitively challenged gaming partners...

And lastly, for today, back to the Peninsular with one of two planned BNs of Dutch. (Warmodelling/Capitan)

Also, if anyone has a line on the figure to the very far right, pulling on the rope, it'd be greatly appreciated. Rob at Eureka USA tells my he's never been produced. Which was disappointing to discover after I'd already assembled and based the crews running up the guns in a very particular way...

Those little chaps are really nice!
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

Cheers. Home sick from work today, so figured I'd pass some time by sharing a few pix of the Russians, as they stand at the moment.

Here's the lot of them. To complete my templated force, I still need to finish 2 BNs of jaegers, 2 of line, moar artillery of course...and fill in some odds and ends. For example, more Pavlovskis, who knows Russo-German Legion? Could go on and on probably with a wish list of cool units to have...

Image

My Kutusov and Pavlovskis WIP.

Image

Some grenadiers. Have some new flags from Adolfo Ramos on the way, so will be doing a little modification to my command stands.

Image

Some light cossack guns

Image

Bigger guns. Still some tidying up to do here...

Image

Made it into Boki's hall of fame with this command stand~

Image

And someplace to fight over...this was a fun table to build, so happy to share some progress shots if there's interest.

Image
Have some more close ups of some individual units if anyone wants to see anything particular.

Great stuff Abu- there is nothing as good as a bunch of Napoleonics
Presumably the Cossack artillery is from OG?
And you can never have too many command stands I reckon

Good to hear that you're playing GdeA - I love those rules

There's a certain fellow in Newcastle who's already thinking "hmmmmm. Napoleonics".

And so am I now.

The command stand with infantry marching past is inspired. I hope to copy that one day.
