Bloody magnificent actually. Anyone (except me) can make brightly coloured stuff pretty, but the mixture of grey and brown is superb.

Thanks All. Grizz, a bit of research showed that the common man, or in the case of Bury, the industrial Yob, did wear quite muted colors, much to my horror. I really struggle to paint civilians to be honest. I can barely dress myself, let alone my wargames armies. It’s far easier to paint uniforms as they are specified.

I remember Britain in 1964, thinking that not only were all the colours muted, but so were the clothes. Burmese tended to be a bit more flamboyant than Brits of the wartime generations.

The First Earl of Peel, William Robert Wellesley Peel, veteran of the Great War and Chancellor of the Dutchy of Lancaster, will lead the BUM over the Penines to Ayton. Along with his son, grandson and Butler Perkins, they form the HQ of this crack fighting force.

The Bury Postal Service have committed to the cause and will send the first message that Black Pudding is superior to Yorkshire Pudding.
