That's it! Two 24-figure unit of Austrian grenadiers and eight gun-crews done and I'm finished with the bloody Austrians! :buddies: :moredrink: :vblove:

That's the III, IV, Advance Guard, Reserve Corps and Hungarian Insurrection done for 1809. My mate's doing the I, II and VI Corps and we're hoping to refight Aspern-Essling over two days in February.

The Memsahib has somehow managed to acquire all three volumes of '1809: Thunder On The Danube' in hardback for my Chrimbo prezzy and without re-mortgaging the house, so that should provide further impetus to the project!

I'm Moving on to painting the French Middle and Young Guard now. I've been wanting to paint these for years - some of AB's finest, in my opinion. Back before suitable figures were available I converted four Middle & Young Guard units from standard line figures, but they're now 25 years old and showing their age. Going to start off doing a 24-figure unit each of the Fusilier-Grenadiers, Tirailleurs and Voltigeurs of the Guard, which should cover most battles. Then I'll do another three units each of Tirailleurs and Voltigeurs, plus a unit of Flanqeur-Grenadiers for the two Young Guard Corps of 1813.

Well done.

I think that's a regret many of us would admit to at our time of life.

A few more Hintons marching off the table.

A French Mounted Officer type.

And some British Fusiliers.
