I loved the Unseen University approach. Necromancy was banned but the did maintain the Department of Post Mortem Studies.

The old world has always been known for being grim and dark. But after the GITs finish with it, it’s worn, soiled and jaded.
I blame the Halfling.

If anything, we got cheated out of a animated boar, an’all.

Did it involve Molli, a link of sausage and an inflatable bladder on a stick?

Re: WFRP Roll20
Here’s a thing: I’ve been using my ‘Aetheric attunement’ talent for the wrong purpose.
It doesn’t help when a casting goes wrong.
It helps when a channelling goes wrong.
(Channelling: summoning magical energy to cast a more powerful spell)
Since Ferdinand is still an apprentice, he doesn’t know any spells powerful enough to require channelling.
There are no consequences for a casting going wrong. If a casting goes wrong, there’s no magic.
It’s just a chump waving their arms around and talking gibberish.
There are consequences for a casting being overly successful.
Not something that’s ever proved a problem, really.

Re: WFRP Roll20
I disagree. I think we’ve been playing it right as magic is magic for rolling your read magic skill.
I think they gave that skill to the starting character to make it easier and I don’t think magical fumbles are included in the QuickStart. Basically you got lucky

Though I think it might be exciting to have a houserule that a 00 is a fumble. A bit boring if there is no backlash to being a wizard
