Re: What's on your workbench?
I'm painting some Ottoman types to add to my C18th stuff. The halberdiers are Warlord and are a little bigger than the RSM archers that will form the front rank (and which will need raising up). I still have 4 command to paint and then I can base them all.
Re: What's on your workbench?
oooooooH, Those are lovely. Pointless, because obviously - 17th/18th century Ottomans you may as well just paint dead people.. but lovely none the less
Re: What's on your workbench?
Lovely. Will also be useful when we do 17th Cen.
Re: What's on your workbench?
Very nice, gents. I know SFA about Ottomans from any period and thought they'd be wearing dull clothing- off-whites, browns, ochres and washed out pastels- so the colourful clothing was a surprise, Count.
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

Re: What's on your workbench?
These are for my ImagiNation stuff so just painted to look pretty
Re: What's on your workbench?
Obviously The Counts stuff is just for Imaginations armies but the majority of Ottoman soldiers in the C18th and C19th were the Janissary Corps. Whilst there were various provincial forces (including local Janissaries) that wore less vibrant clothing the usual uniform was a blue oat and white trousers. Other Janissary Uniforms include Green coats/blue trousers and the Sultans Guard who wore red coats.
(Clearly this makes Andy's troops elite Sultans Guard...what else? )
