Ok. Just tested, Virgin will happily let me go to porn, but blocks a wargames website?
My innate paranoia wonders whether it's also partly because of the mention of a 'Black Legion'.

But bastards as the English were, at least they weren't Catholics... I think that also played a very large part in the quite astonishing reaction to the French landing of 1797.
I work with a fella from Fishguard...I love that story!!! The French just stopped to get pissed didn't they? And then got chased off by some local fierce looking women?? Brilliant!!
Here you go... Everything you wanted to know about the Battle of Fishguard but were afraid to ask...
Sadly all the local museums, council, schools, etc, prefer to push ridiculous fiction instead of actual history...

Ah yeah, I actually looked it up at the time and seems a pretty interesting story to be fair! Plus Jon said he thinks the old folk lore is just a bit of fun, but loves the history of it as a proper Pembrokian.
Why let the actual history get in the way of a good folk legend

Yeah, I didn't think there were any filters. I certainly haven't opted in to any. It sounds like various ISPs are experimenting with blocking content.
Which just means VPN companies get a payday.

Well indeed! As mentioned in the article, if Pembrokeshire has to have a war, it's exactly the sort of war we should be good at - colossal amounts of alcohol, terrifying female matriarchs who excel at applied violence, people turning up late or not at all and general shambolic incompetence all round. It makes me so proud...
As it happens, my dad and his brother spent their holidays re-enacting the 'battle' over Llanwnda rocks, where the French made their brief stand. His uncle's family had owned the land from at least 1830 and probably had in 1797.
My dad has never mentioned which one of them had to wear the women's clothes... It must have been a tough call... Wear women's clothing and be the winner or be the loser AND French...
Anyway, give my regards to my Brother From Another Descendant of Jemima Jon and ask him how Kenny Twatt is getting on.

A useful little kit for a poor quarter for Bhowelpore 1857:
and maybe even Mexico 1835.

I confess I'm in the middle of tarting up the John Banks Edwards set of 5 Adobe Buildings for £7 deal. I'm too cheap to pay for the Sarissa ones when I'm going to change them beyond recognition. They may well do duty in the Peninsula, Mexico and India.

I picked up the "Brigands and Browncoats" box from the bargain section at Northstar for £20. The game itself might be fun but the real attraction was a load of instant terrain/buildings for Stargrave.

Perry metal Nap Prussian Fusiliers and a box of their plastic infantry. Eagerly waiting their plastic cavalry, not that I dont have their metals still to paint. Going to try and finish my Prussians... someday..
