More like trying to buy, I thought I might do Kingdom of Italy as an opponent for my Austrians, and a quick Google shows there's a book in the Helion series 'The Army of the Kingdom of Italy, 1805-1814' perfect thinks I. Except that I can find that for pre-order on Casemate, but not anywhere on the Helion site itself. Not in forthcomng... how odd.

Not according to Helion, the publisher. Nowhere to be found on their site. Very odd, as I would have pre-ordered.

Doug - The History Bookman (ex-Rawkins) line had a book on the Italian army of this period. Unfortunately, since the death of Rawkins fils late last year, nothing more has been heard from his family - other than a cryptic and unhelpful (no links for further communication) note from his daughter that the business "would continue" and the website has been taken down.

well it was listed as 2020 due from Helion, so it might be worth an email to check there is not an issue and everyone else is not using a placeholder.

Good thinking ... and email can't hurt.

Just ordered The Silver Bayonet deal from Northstar. Napoleonic fantasy skirmish. Described by one of my friends as Pride, Prejudice and Vampires. I'll need a green uniformed officer so that I can say "Have that yer bastard" in a Yorkshire accent every turn.

Personally, I'm planning some AWI Sharp Practice where one of the lead characters is Second Lieutenant Aubrey Mather-Farquhar. No Yorkshire accent.

And for some reason, probably prompted by Stargrave etc, I ducked off to DriveThru RPG and purchased Cepheus Deluxe (Traveller by another name) plus the 'Solo' book to allow me to have a real nostalgia hit.. and i suspect I will buy a box of plastic starship crew as well.
