I've been in the shed, where there isn't much of a neglected lead pile these days. Dug out the Scotia models 6mm moderns I bought for a Kumbahyah micro armour dabble and have based them up. So far there is enough for a couple of small sides. I do like the Scotia models, they're cheap as biltong and decently cast. I'm often put off by poor castings in the smaller scales.

I find with micro armour, if you are going to base them, texture the base, then glue on the tank.

Yes, quite agree and that was the plan then I realised the basing sand will be fine enough that it shouldnt matter too much. Or I might just paint the bases and leave them, leaves the option for unit markings and fire arc markers like Alex's Rommels Battles units.

My epic stuff, I mass produce bases, and stick the tanks onto nails to paint, then bring together at the end.

I've always stuck to the base first and then textured after.

My workbench is dust laden after weeks of hobby inactivity. But on Thursday I took delivery of a few 15mm Pikemen I'd sent to a friend to paint... three years ago...

So in an attempt to resurrect my flaccid mojo I thought I'd start basing them...

A good core for several possible pike armies... Just need to paint the extras...

It's going to be a splendid project, Tim. Looking forward to seeing this develop. And there's still time to snip the corners of those bases.......just saying.

And me. When basing vehicles and guns and stuff, I glue a small spacer under the wheels/tracks so I can texture up to them.
