Just finished a Regt. of ACW Confederates for Ayton.
It's the first time i've actually pushed through and painted an= full ACW unit in any scale and, having avoided the war for years, I actually enjoyed painting them.
24 Figures to go and I'm finished for this years Ayton

Not a difficult war to avoid, just stay out of the ex colonies.

Final bit of basing and a new brigadier for Ayton.
Then I need to decide if I can manage 3 battalion guns too.

Course you can, and a brigade of cavalry. Paint them in The Forge and varnish them at breakfast.

It needs to stop raining so I can prime my limbers! Otherwise they will be getting painted at the Forge and varnished at breakfast!

Wait until your wife is out and just do it in the living room in a cardboard box.
You can open a window.

I’m 7 figures off Ayton Complete.
There is a handful of extra little bits I was going to do like various vignettes to quietly carry pistols and spontoons behind my own troops in a purely ‘encouraging’ role... but we’ll see what I can pump through during these night shifts.

Due to the dry and realtively decent weather I spray black undercoated my 6mm Early War Germans yesterday -all 68 vehicles and 27 infantry/artillery bases of them. Today I over-sprayed all the vehicles and artillery with grey primer which is my version of Pz grey. Going with the grey/dark brown combo with these and a final black wash will darken the grey so as to mollify the purists among you.

Before I left for my overseas trip I painted up 2 battalions of Russian Napoleonic Infantry, 1 by Perry Miniatures and the other by Warlord Games for comparison purposes

My line regiment (36 men) is now stuck with "no more nails" to their bases. As a nod to the 1750s, I've removed the tricolors and given the three line regiments Russian style flags(cross pattern).

Might do the same for the three militia regiments.
