I'd be keen on ancients and have Republican Romans, they just arent painted yet. Except for the light troops. What kind of unit size, number of units are we talking?

I can provide a classical Greek army plus the core of a Macedonian force
This is starting to feel like a conspiracy :D
I've been wanting a big Ayton Ancients game for years to force me to paint one of the boxes of lead and/or plastic, when one is happening, i'm not there :(
C'est la vie :-D
(Although I have zero experience of Hail Caesar so it's probably a good thing anyway)

Well, if you're twitching to paint some ancients but didnt want to commit to a big HC army we could do a WAB or Rampant sometime next year?

I think about 8 to 12 units with units being a standard 24 figures but organised into small, medium or large units. Depends on the army you have I think. Its a big battle game.

I could probably make up a smallish army of either Dacians or Skythians for Hail Caesar (I think I have in the region of 200 Dacians and 80-90 Skythian Cavalry!.....both unpainted of course :D )

HC works on 'Divisions', so having probably 3 Divisions of probably 4 or 5 units is a good idea (4 infantry units and an artillery piece or skirmishers/light unit etc), then put your Cavalry in a single Div too

Command/orders are given from Divisional commanders and a CinC/General (usually your main Div Commander)

A Div gets broken once Half the units within it are broken, an army is broken once Half it's Divisions are broken etc

Great game to play

Standard units in 2 ranks should be between 16-20 figures, so Paul, you could probably get away with making around 10 standard infantry units outa your Dacians

Large would be 32-40....and small are 8-12
