Ok, I realise that this is over a year away, but this way anybody interested has got plenty of time to book the dates, arrange accommodation etc.
At long last a new venue has been located. As nice as the Crown was, lighting was never brilliant, either way too bright during daylight, or too dark when using artificial lighting. But now the old Conservative Club building has been purchased by a team of architects. These guys have avoided the temptation to turn it into a block of flats and make a quick killing, and instead have created a Community space, which houses the Parish council offices, and offers a range of studio space for artists and creative types. They have rooms for hire as well. There is a very nice Cafe/bar on site. I have booked a room for next year. Between 20th and 23rd October. The room is well lit with nice large windows for natural light, and good artificial lighting. There is space for a maximum of about 12 players.
So, I have long wanted to give my ACW collection one last big run out, whilst I am still able to carry them. At present the plan is to set up on Thursday night, and then have playing time from Friday morning until Sunday evening. I will supply terrain and troops, but if players want to knock up a unit of their own, then fine, but not essential. I do not have a final figure on costs, but having spoken to the owners I am thinking it will not be much more than £40.00 a head (based on a minimum of 10 players).
So I am hoping that Framlingham regulars might want to support this event at least, and that we will have our usual good time. Places will be on a first come first served basis I'm afraid, because of the space available.
I look forward to hearing from you.
