The Loose Association of Wargamers

A 30 minute drive to Exeter to put on "Siege of Louisbourg 1747" Legionary 2024.
Took an hour to set up table ready for players.

Father and 2 sons asked to play at 1045, John (Bonnie Prince Charlie), Tom and Sam (British).
Forgot to take photos for the first hour having loads of fun.

Tom the British general asked to shoot at the Bonnie Prince, I pointed out that he was behind a hill.
He pointed out there were two great big flags denoting where he was. Fair point I allowed the shots on an extra -1 to hit on a D6.
So for the next couple of hours one battery continually shot at the Prince(John never moved him?)
A near miss...





All the players having fun.


The Prince was killed and John had to roll to see if the gold treasure chest was looted.
His luck held and his troops carried on fighting.
The game continued with lots of back and forth action. More later.......

I hate to concentrate on such a small detail in what is, overall, an outstanding display of figures & terrain - your chevaux-de-frise.
It is remarkable. By using a tree trunk, it looks so very real.

I did ask to see your figures in action & I am totally satisfied with this feast of photos.
And I'm glad BPC survived. I know he's generally not well regarded but I think he would have made a reasonable king.

Cheers for all your kind comments it was a great day out and the players all enjoyed themselves.
The fast play rules work very well, so a big thank you to Paul Robinson for the rules which worked well with my additions.

It took a bit of time to drill the holes, may buy a mini powered drill to make life easier. Have to pick them up gently or they prick your fingers.

Did you make any use of the boats?
I think you need a few more inches of counterscarp towards the water (if you know what I mean.....☺).
