Re: DbECW development thread.
Yes, in my view exactly that. In the rule rewrite I'm doing I'm making adjustments to allow for all of the above. I can add another example – the battle of Lansdown as it has some interesting characteristics. • A lot of Royalist horse run at the mere sight of Hasselrigs Lobsters, who themselves are ...

Re: DbECW development thread.
I've no idea of anything DBN etc but a few things that I'll throw into the pot… Most rules work out their cavalry doctrine based on what happened in 1642 and Edgehill specifically. The truth is that not all Royalist cavalry charged at a gallop and not all Parliamentarian cavalry used firearms before...

Re: ECW - just for arguments sake you understand
Did you ever find any rules for ECW you were happy with Tim? I've got two older sets that I'm mucking about with after lots of modifications. Forlorn Hope with a fairly major rewrite and then the Gush WRG rules. The core of these is very simple and still very good for ECW. Since the rules were writ...

Re: ECW - just for arguments sake you understand
…it tended to misbehave frequently. At Lansdown a large chunk of the Royalist horse took one look at Hasselrigge's (spelling with as many of the letters allowed as possible) Lobsters and fled. Mind you they may have had a point. The Lobsters were fully tooled up Londoners looking for a scrap. What I...

Re: ECW - just for arguments sake you understand
This is deeply frustrating. For years I’ve been saying ECW in 28mm and you’ve all been telling me I’m bonkers. Now I’ve fallen in love with Essex 15mm range, you all start brandishing about the period! My problem, I’m ahead of the curve. Don't do it – check out Eureka's new 18mm range. If I didn't ...

Re: Static Grass Applicator
Yes. I actually have access to one of the Noch "Nuremburg" (you know- looks like a torch from a Nazi rally) applicators. I have greaseproof paper and shedloads of various flocks. But I picked up a small pack of ready-made ones at a show last year and it is just so much less faff; pick it ...

Re: Static Grass Applicator
While we are on the subject, can anyone recommend a supplier of really small grass tufts ? Yes, these folks do 2mm ones. I've some of their longest ones and was very pleased with the quality and colour. When they arrived I thought they would be paler than they actually were. However, when I checked...

Re: Static Grass Applicator
I've seen the Noch one demonstrated and it worked extremely well, better than the puffer bottle they do but I have and use the puffer bottle, as it cost a few quid. I think Green Scene do a Noch style electric applicator for rather less cash. However, I have read that the really cheap ones on ebay d...
