Re: Annual Show game - a problem

Thanks for all the interest. The really aren't many/any armchair experts attending. We are the only wargame there &, still, a curiosity. The Train show attracts a near total majority of parents seeking to distract their children & train enthusiasts. None have even heard of historical, miniat...

Re: Annual Show game - a problem

You're an Aussie, Dal. Do you really think most Brisvegans would have even have heard of the SYW much less recognise an incorrect uniform? No, it's for us, not them. I thought about your flag swop idea but that would be a fairly sizeable task to transform & then change back.Even re-locating new ...

Annual Show game - a problem

We've staged a two day game at our local Train Show for 15? years. This year, without telling us, they moved the date & 2 of our number will be OS at the time of the Show. Apart from missing their company, they were providing about 25% of the figures for the ECW clash. So - ECW is postponed. Wha...

Re: Maxen- a SYW approximation

It was interesting to see how the same game developed & ended in an entirely different way. A few different decisions, some random dice results & BINGO! a new game.

Re: Maxen- a SYW approximation

Because we didn't finish the game, we met again & re-fought Maxen. It was set up the same (mostly): https://i.postimg.cc/3JpT7L7j/maxen_again1.jpg The Prussian infantry were stalwart: https://i.postimg.cc/wMC00cGg/maxen_again_3.jpg But the Prussian cavalry never stopped trying: https://i.postimg...

Re: Zaphir & Abbas..& BP

They look good, Donald. Laser-cut MDF or scratched? I designed them & my little pal with the laser cutter did the needed. best bits - you can't clearly see them in the photos - are the boilers. I began with the top of a garden hose fitting & used all sorts of bits from the Spares Box. donald

Re: Lochdogh Militia

(I was always taught no "e" in Scotch - as in the drink, not the folk - only for Irish. Is it always with an "e" in the Senior Service?) No, you're correct. The "e" stands for 'Erin'. The Yanks also spell it with an "e" which in their case stands for 'eejit'....

Re: Lochdogh Militia

I love a good back story nearly as much as I love good figures, so win:win here, Will.
