Re: 18thC Shoulder Knot - uniform question

Yes. Looking at modern ones may help (although the number of loops may vary). Usually there's also a metal tip at the end.

Thanks. :)

Apparently some soldiers on the French side were not taking things seriously, either. :-D

A skirmish near the Berezina

A skirmish near the Berezina in 1812, played last Sunday at LudOcean games festival in Clohars-Carnoët / Kloar-Karnoed (Brittany). There were many very different gaming activities in all parts of the village, we had the privilege to play in the city hall. :) https://i.servimg.com/u/f27/18/47/41/03/2...

Re: A small SYW action

Nice battle.

And nice coach! Such coaches remind the scene in “La Folie des grandeurs“ (1971) when the tax collector's servant secretly sabotages the bottom of the vehicle to give back the gold to the peasants. :clappy:

Hi, A new PDF update (October 2023) of the generic Argad rules (a mix of skirmish wargame and RPG) is available in English (and is always free). The rules were first published in 1996 ...and have improved since. ;) The previous version of the generic rules was made in 2020. This new update keeps the...

Re: Artillery for town walls - SYW

I don't know such thing as a militia artillery. However some decades before, in the 1690s I think, it was mentioned in St-Malo that the civilian sailors and privateers living in town were more efficient to use the guns on naval carriages on the city walls than regular soldiers.
