My figures are 25/28mm Infantry 4 figures on 40mm x 40mm base. light infantry 2 figures on 40mm x 40mm base. Cavalry 2 figures on 50mm x 50mm base. Artillery 1 gun 3/4 crew on 80mm x 50mm base. Why paint, do what I do, make your own shields on computer and print them off. Attach to plastic, metal shields with wood / PVA glue. All it takes is a bit of practice on the printing to get the correct sheild size. It is best to undercoat / wood colour the shield before gluing, so you still have to...

I paint my Spencer Smiths as generic French / Prusians. They work for 1720 - 1770ish, who serve in the Tiberian army or fight against it. My flags for 25/28mm are between 35-40mm square, onlly because I like large flags on my wargame figures.
