With Duncan's recent sad passing I feel this is an issue more of us might be quietly thinking on. But taking Aly Morrison's advice I shall focus more on enjoying what I have and do while I still can!
Sound advice it is too.

Just for interest rather than use in a game if I'm honest, an observation balloon vignette for the Union army. The balloon was found in a tourist tatt shop in Whitchurch, Salop a few years ago and is used unaltered but for the addition of a Dixon Miniatures officer with map.

Just a suggestion, but you could - if you so wished - add a Prussian officer to the vignette, as a certain Count von Zeppelin was attached as an observer with the Union forces, and made notes on their use of observation balloons especially during the siege of Yorktown (the 1862 one, not the 1781 version). One of the balloon's occupants at Yorktown was a certain Custer, G A. I wonder if he and young Zeppo ever met?

That's a nice idea Baron, wonder if anyone has such miniature going spare? In the meantime, a view from the balloon ~

Virulently and virtuously verifiable!
