Nice. I traditionally leave my metallics till last, but I suspect that may be a hangover from when I learned to varnish before applying metallics.

Look forward to seeing these in close up. I am currently part of the way through my own Roman forces, but so far it's been bases, reverse of shields and spear shafts. Slow progress due to gardening duties and family being intruders. The flesh colours go on next, so we shall see how that goes.

It’s sandals and scabbards at the moment. I always start with flesh funnily enough because I like to think of clothing real people rather than painting metal figures.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Makes sense, I am trying to work out a method that allows me to slop paint on with increasing care as it goes on, and I hate painting shields separately, so it makes sense for me to do the backs of shields first... To me, they always only start to inspire once the flesh goes on, so I am very much looking forward to that stage. And then tunics, leatherwork, shader, highlights, metallics and wash.

This is as far as I got in 7 days:

Actually you probably can't tell much progress from the last pic, but it's the fiddly bits (belts, scabbards, sword hilts) that got done. Next steps are tunic, plum shafts and plumes - and then the shields which I've been dithering over as to transfers but they have been undercoated and the backs sorted (mostly). Looks feasible to finish this in 14 days so I'll press on despite boredom setting in.

I have found since my time here, that you Humans have a peculiar view of order. I have informed Martian High Command.
