We've been setting up the table for tomorrow's Kolin refight, so here are a few pre-game pictures.
I initially set the table up with only the Austrian formations that Frederick could see, so the first few photos feature all the Prussians, but not many Austrians. Once Fred had issued his orders, I stuck the remaining Austrians on the table.
Note that a lot of the units are on single linear bases, so when they're in column, we stick an MDF arrow next to them, to show direction of march. The single-based units are MUCH quicker to set up and move than the traditional 3-4 bases per battalion:

Re: Kolin 1757 Refight
I thought you were putting on a big game?
That looks bloody excellent!

Re: Kolin 1757 Refight
Very impressive, Mark. Doesn't the view of all those hussar regiments facing off make up for the painting effort? I notice that you haven't thrown the Wartenburg Hussars away, as you seemed to be about to do. Have you forgiven them?
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
Re: Kolin 1757 Refight
Ssshh! Phil doesn't know that half of his hussars (and the Leibgarde) are freshly-painted and in their first game...

Admit it - you've been searching the Welsh wargaming community for ages trying to find someone called Colin Powell to command one of the sides, haven't you?

Re: Kolin 1757 Refight
Funnily enough, the first three Prussian hussar regiments to break were Puttkamer, Werner and Wartenberg (the three newly-painted ones)!
The Leibgarde never got into action, so I've still got that to come...
