Re: DBN Gaming

Tim, Peeler and I meet up yesterday for an enjoyable time playing the playtest version of DBSYW. We played Mollwitz twice with the Austrians and Prussians each winning one game a piece. The playtest rules are coming together nicely and I am now putting together army lists and army special rules.

Figures are 28mm and are based on double sized bases with 2"= 100 paces. The game was played on a 4ft by 4 ft table.

Great stuff, I think these rules will be a very good fit for the period.

Thanks Marks for a grand afternoon!

I think the rules are working well, we noted a few things to consider but none of which was a problem in the game, we just worked with it.

Great battle to game with limitations for both sides. No super Prussians appart from the Guards. Poor Prussian horse and limited Austrian musketry. I'm wondering if the guns have too much range though?

Played well & good company, though I apologise for the state I left Tim's toilet in. A couple of tweaks to the rules & they'll be sorted.

I am planning to have a solo game of DBACW using my 28mm figures.

These are based for Fire and Fury on 40 by 30mm bases. I have made up a 80 by 40mm temporary bases using black artists board, black card, white gel pen and blue tack.

The examples show 3 regiments of Robertson brigade at Gettysburg. The card unit ids can be easily swapped for different scenarios.

That's a good looking game, Ilkey, and the ACW are well done. I'm not sure how DBACW will go, though, with all the different types of artillery and small arms. Please let us know how i\t goes.
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
