Russian Mounted Jäger 1813 (AB Figures)

Post by RMD »

At the start of the year, Tony Barton finally plugged one of the minor gaps in the AB Figures Napoleonic Russian range with the release of some Russian Mounted Jäger figures (Chasseurs à Cheval if you prefer the French term). I've been wanting some of these for quite a while! :D So here's the first regiment of them (the Livonia Regiment), with an article on the blog:

According to the recent Perry announcement about their new plastic uhlans, the Russians also had "dragoons with sticks" - now there's a conversion for you to get your teeth into, Mark!

Nice work, mate. What's with the funny hats- are they some form of Grenzer?

Sorry, I was getting with the humdrum boredom of coats, facings, lace, crossbelts, bright colours and tricorns, so needed a short break with some coats, facings, lace, crossbelts, bright colours and shakos.

A change is as good as a holiday, or so they say. I see Mr Barton has put out a few new figures- ACW, Prussians, French, 20mm WWII. So much temptation.....

PS Swedes? Phil B nearly went nuts trying to sort out their flags and uniforms. He even got some information from their army museum- mainly about flags, from memory. You do like the obscure, don't you? :)
