A bit of a try out for the second version of Warlord's Hail Caesar rules. A small game to hopefully minimise the things we'd miss - some chance there!
More on the blog as you'd expect by now. Do pop over if you've a spare moment.

Wonderful stuff.
I am tempted to try out Hail Caesar _ what I've read about the rules looks encouraging. But my modified 'War & Conquest' rules seem to be working so it would be foolish to change horses mid-stream.

I've started Rebasing my '1066 & All That' collection now I've played a few games with the new edition of Hail Caesar. Units are on one 120x60mm base for ease of storage and play. There's a bit more about this on the blog at present.
All the figures were sculpted by my son Matt: the top picture for Foundry nearly 20 years ago now, the bottom for Footsore a couple of years ago.

They're lovely, mate. I liked the gun and detachment on the blog, too.
So your son is obviously much more talented than yourself. Does it make you jealous?

If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
Re: Hail Caesar!
No, rather it makes me ridiculously proud as I'm sure you and others would expect in my place. His painting is something to see too. He and his friends did the 100 years war game at the first Partizan after lockdown in the UK ended. It was featured in Wargames Illustrated if you see it a couple of months later.

Good looking game.
I really must play another game of HC.....I think I've managed three game turns in total......and probably got wiped out.

Is this where the fine tradition of the Gateway Cavalry comes from?
Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.)

Yes, mate, why wouldn't you be? I'll go back and check the WI's- I think I remember the issue.Penda » 20 Mar 2023 22:33
No, rather it makes me ridiculously proud...
PS Penda, are they the figures in WI402- the 100YW skirmish scenarios for NMTBH?

Re: Hail Caesar!
I don't think so, they are large units on a large game at Partizan in October 2021, so would have been in an issue for December?
