I'm happy to give the hotel a try. We can see how it goes. That £40 I'm saving will buy me a G&T at the hotel bar.

And still leave change for a 1/10 share in a bag of vegetarian pork scratchings!

Re: hotel as venue, would they have an issue with brought in drinks?
Noooo not alcohol (sadly) but I go through a 2l bottle of water, or more when gaming and chatting for a day.

I'm sure they'll bring you as much tap water as you like. But I doubt they'll be pleased about anything else. They liked us there last time as we were buying teas/coffees and pink gin for EB and Pemble.FreddBloggs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 11:24 am Re: hotel as venue, would they have an issue with brought in drinks?

Re: Ayton November 2023
I do a bottle of water with squash added normally, rather than jst plain water.
Re: Ayton November 2023
Fred,
I can't imagine there'll be an issue with you having a bottle of squash. They've never raised any concerns about catering for food or drink during the day. I'm not even sure the kitchen would be open should we want food - if we choose to use the hotel, I'll get all the details confirmed.

It was a, check in advance thing, rather than a deal breaker type thing.

Just bringing this back to the front.Peeler wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 8:47 pm After a bit of a slapping about & threats of violence, the VH Booking lady has said, as regular customers,
£400 for the whole hall or £300 for just the main hall, which gives an unlikely chance that another group could want the back room and kitchen.
So far there's ten coming, one possible, two not yet answered, eight not coming.
Maketh thy choices between whole hall, main hall, or Lodge.
