What are people buying?
Re: What are people buying?
For those who have the rules, and some tanks, is it worth bringing to Ayton for a bit of a laugh? As I understand it, games can be played in half and hour to an hour
Re: What are people buying?
It just means my big tanks get bonuses for ramming your little tanks!
I’m pretty sure that’s not a euphemism

I think this game would be awesome with 1/12 scale RC tanks

I'm sure that once a scale & period are decided just for a one off meet those of us with suitable tanks could bring more than one. I could do 1944 Shermans & PzIV's in 15mm. That's just restricting myself to the entry level ones for the year.
I note that the Sturmtiger is not in the list, probably very sensible as the special rules required would be challenging. You would need to be able to replace large areas of terrain with "Big crater".
I can see a spreadsheet coming up.

whichever version I use, bear in mind that all my tanks are ‘low profile’.goat major wrote: ↑Mon Apr 09, 2018 2:24 pm it also allows you to choose which version of the rules to use at any given moment. Not that you'd do that....
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

I have some Vickers Mk VI and a couple of Matildas in 10mm (left over from my Crete setup). Obviously the Vickers is not much use for the game. I have some unmade desert stuff in 15mm and one (soon to be two after Ayton) Vickers mk VIs in 28mm....so really it's 15mm for me!

So - Vickers MkVI against a Tiger II anyone? Fortunately, I think the Vickers can outrun the Tiger, so guns will have to be used (as opposed to just running it over).

Re: What are people buying?
Indeed it is. Installed in the 1980s, under the house's previous owner (who was semi-invalid); we bought in 1990. The only problem we have ever had with it is when the seals dissolved because the bleach we used was too strong; regular service and judicious use has preserved it until now. Which is not bad, considering the waste and feed pipes are now way too small (ie narrow) according to current building regs.

Unfair, the Vickers just keeps driving until the tiger breaks down, about 5 minutes.BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 8:05 am So - Vickers MkVI against a Tiger II anyone?
