Guy having played an imagination campaign based on the Jacobite rebellion 1745 ending in a defeat for Bonnie Prince Charlie at the battle
of hearhrow late 1745. The Prince was transported to St Helena and the Scottish rebels were offered death or service to the English crown. Most took up the offer and were spread among the current Scottish regiments who were promptly shipped over to the Americas. After 18 months the Prince escaped from St Helena and raised an Army from loyal Jacobites in America, supported by the French.
Our game is a siege of Louisbourg in 1747 our plan is to have the French / Jacoities laying siege to Louisbourg with the British defending.
Or visa versa.
My first draft plan for the table for Guy and my siege of Louisbourg 1747ish.
2 x 10/12 x 6 foot tables placed in a T shape, this will allow land and sea action to take place.
Thinking of playing it as a card driven game any ideas on this subject are welcome.
Cards such as mutiny among the Scottish regiments, no pay, drunk troops, storms at sea and a whole host of other action and event cards I am putting together.
The British will be defending and the jacobites / French will be attacking, there will be a breach in the wall and the game will start from that point.
The defenders will have a temporary abbatis at the breach.
