Play testing game for PAW and Kenilworth

Post by Willz the Wargamer »

Spent yesterday afternoon play testing rules for PAW and Kenilworth.
This is about 1/3 of the fortifications I will be using.

Notes from test game
1. Hardcover -2 to hit from firing unit.
2. Players are only allowed to use 2 cards per turn.
3. Cards can be played anytime.
4. Markers for units with loaded muskets or artillery.
5. Some cards are too powerful (Move enemy unit card).
6. Less cards work better for games.
7. Maximum of 5 cards at start of game, tailored to attacker or defender.

Nice work, Willz. (Reminds me I must do the flags of Royal Ecossais sometime soon too! :-)) (Those khaki mountains in the background are a bit threatening though! ;-))

Cheers,
David.

That looks impressive, Willz. Who rolled their gun too far forward?
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

Cheers for your kind comments chaps, don't let Mrs H know you are calling her olive green chairs karki :-D .
As I was solo gaming I had to tip the cannon over to remind me it was destroyed :) .

As I have not got enough British artillery or British infantry in my 28mm for this game (not a problem at Kenilworth Guys supplying the british).
I spent yesterday shorting out my Spener Smiths my 20mm figures to use one or the other in this game, then this morning I went back to my 28mm metal SYW figures :wall:
I found some british figures that will make artillery and I am going to use my French Irish battalions with British command group.

Advancing age is one advantage for solo wargaming. I can't remember what I was planning for the other side's moves, and often surprise myself by doing something unexpected. :-)
