On Tuesday we got a couple of more turns in, in between admiring his newly-finished 20mm Desert vehicles and latest 3D print jobs for Italian anti-tank and anti-aircraft portees (he's got that 3D sorcery worked out), talking about old times and taking photos (some of which were worth using). Bill was introduced to the niceties of the JRII charge process. He agrees that it's just a tad over-engineered. Two game turns to go, the light is fading and the game's as finely balanced as.... perhaps not.

And it's over. It went down to one dice roll on the last turn. There were a few rules glitches and neither Bill nor I liked the contradictions between some of the tables on the QRS, so I'm rewriting it for, hopefully, further games.

May the 4th be with you.....

Sounds like a good game about to be made even better (once those awkward little wrinkles are ironed out).

Thanks, mate. I won't improve on the game, I'll just make it easier to find information and to read the QRS. A few house rules we used were more about mnemonics than faults in the game. The small font is a bit tough on tired old eyes, and the data has been compressed and abbreviated to fit on the pages. The photo below will give you an idea- that's the top of a standard Letter-sized page (8.5" X 11").

One thing the photos have done is shown me how much painting, patching and repair work I should be doing on the figures. Still, they've survived fairly well over 30+ years and six moves.
