You’ve got to do ‘Fantastique’ - wasn’t that the one with the tree-painted camouflage?
Yes. There are photos on 'Chars Francais' for reference. (They've tracked down photos of many of the individual Char B & put them on the site).

Well those ex-The Drum 15mm 'Mediterranean' buildings finally turned up and jolly nice they are too! The moulds have clearly suffered a little since I bought my first batch from The Drum, but to be fair, The Drum's model buildings were the best-cast I've ever seen. There is now some excess resin in the undercuts beneath balconies, windowsills, etc, but nothing major. If The Drum's casting could be rated as 10/10, I'd give these a 7.5/10, which is still a hell of a lot better than Hovels' finest offerings and of course, the model design and sculpting is still 10/10.

Two fairly minor criticisms:

1. They're cast in a horrible yellow-buff resin that will stick out like a sore thumb if the model gets chipped.

2. Would it really hurt SHQ to have given the model bases a quick whizz on a sanding machine? They've just been left in their 'raw' state. and will need to be sanded down before they sit flat on the table, which is a pain in the arse.

Sadly, aside from the church and nunnery (which are the two most obvious models and didn't really need labelling), they weren't labelled, so I've still got little idea as to which building model matches which description on the website.

All things considered, these are still great models, are very reasonably-priced (I think they still cost much the same as they did 20-odd years ago!) and well-worth getting for 15mm Spanish/Italian battles. Having previously been told that the models had been lost/destroyed, I'm over the moon to discover that they're still available for sale and SHQ really should do a better job of marketing them - at least put some photos on the website!

I'll take some photos later and will add a piece to the blog.

Any chance of seeing that at Partizan? That said, I doubt that my painting skills are up to reproducing it!

Also, I've decided that I shall probably go with Billotte and the 41eme at Stonne.

Brendan- I’ll stick it in my games bag after tomorrow’s kerfuffle, it’s a Zaloga illustration but I couldn’t find it online.
