Here’s a thread for any Ayton VBCW builds, as there’s a number of Loose Asses working on this.
I’m down for a chunk of the High Street, the Church and the Village School. The latter I actually built a couple of years ago as I’ve always wanted to do an English town that would work for 1930’s through to present day, for Sealion/Home Guard games through to a nasty little scenario I've worked out for the 1970's:
Village School
The rest of the stuff is starting out on the workbench:
A couple of shots of the work so far:
I’ve been a bit anal on the interiors, suspect the ground floors might not be visible or only just through the windows, but I’ll know they are there!

Excellent work, but....oopstairs bathrooooom, in 1930s Yarksheer (last photo)? Crapper in t'yard - back yard if tha' were looky - and tin bath in front of t'fire are all tha needs, sithee. Think on, lad, think on.

Marvellous stuff, LT, and such tasteful decor.

The school is wonderful! Tend to agree though about the scarcity of bathrooms in the 1930’s
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

Admittedly it's a bit chic for Ayton, but there must be one nobby bloke in the village with t'pushy wife.
Besides, I've got a good model to pop in there

We used to dream bout crapper in't back yard, and a tin bath would've been a bloody luxury for us 'uns. We had to shite in ginnel at back of t'houses once a week and clean afore neighbours could use it their sen's. Young 'uns these days don't know they're born I tell thee.BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 10:58 am Excellent work, but....oopstairs bathrooooom, in 1930s Yarksheer (last photo)? Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.
