Re: What are people buying?
Went to Foundry today. Escaped with only paint and some Normans for CB. They've got a lot more painted figures on display now - looks like everything from their website + all the old GW stuff. Very impressive.

Yeah, I think only the Soviet infantry is plastic. My Soviets are Khurasan - I got them just before TY appeared.
Now I come to think of it, the TY East Germans were surprisingly good and flash-free. They were the first Battlefront figures I'd bought in years, so they lulled me into a false sense of security... The Yanks were slightly disappointing and the Cloggies are bloody awful... That'll learn me... Quite a contrast to those exquisite Poles by Oddzial Osmy.

Their original figures, c2000 or so were good & well cast (eg the original US paras, lovely figures). Unfortunately they went on to produce some frankly alarming looking caricatures, with bizarre body proportions, marked cephalomegaly & wildly out of scale weaponry. Some, eg the British paratroopers look very strange indeed.
Early BF figures, who seem to have joined the French Foreign Legion in Indochina, with a couple of ring ins & head swaps.
Hmmm. I rarely buy their figures now.

I'm hovering over a box of Warlord plastic Winter Germans but they look heavy on StG44's, which I wouldnt want on my figures. Anyone put these together?

There were so many figures not on the website that seem available at the store- would like a pack or two of French Napoleonic command in 28mm that would be suitable for cavalry commanders

To be fair, there's nothing at all wrong with the sculpting and proportions on these. Just horrible casting. Here are the East Germans and Yanks - very nice models (especially the Germans):Etranger wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 1:25 amTheir original figures, c2000 or so were good & well cast (eg the original US paras, lovely figures). Happy to help as well Kerry. It might be worth dropping them an email - I've got the impression from them that they seem willing to cast up almost anything on demand from their back catalogue so long as you know what you are looking for

Re: What are people buying?
I have to admit I have given up on Foundry, they used to do a range of quite beautiful Trojan wars, looked at the packs on the stand at shows and the sculpts are fine, the casting of them is worse than Perries. So at the price, I declined.
