I had a look at Swordpoint but it looked a bit too big for me, same as Hail Caesar. The best thing about WAB is that it plays well from 50 figures upwards so it doesn't take forever to get started. I have To The Strongest but I am ambivalent towards the grid system. Neil Thomas' Ancient & Medieval Wargaming rules are my choice using 20mm square WAB basing on Warbases Trays.

Yes, I once had WAB when it first came out. I'm now keeping an eye on an ebay copy. I think we're on the same page really. I intend to use my Saga warbands in movement trays for adapted Neil Thomas rules anyway. I'm also a bit concerned that the other rules will be too big, fine for a club or someone with a lot of time to paint. Might the case I go the same way with some Greek types so I can Rampant them up or base tray them down as needed as with my Dark Age stuff.

I got a copy of WAB v1.5 on eBay a couple of weeks ago for £20. Some people seem to list it very expensively but if you wait then a normal priced one should come along. V1.0 seems to be as cheap as chips.

I also put a saved search on Abebooks and this one came in last night. I'm happy to let you go for this one if you want

I've always thought it would work. We'd have to pick some fairly simple rules (so maybe Hail Caesar which as I said above I wouldn't choose normally but may be the most commonly acceptable choice). A Hyborian style imaginations mish-mash would be great and we could all do something creative and imaginative. And Andy could do Swans again.

WAB is a great set of rules, I've got a few or the period specific books too....although my copy of the Arthurian sourcebook has gone missing

The trouble, I fear, is that you chaps are thinking 28mm, maybe 15mm.
I don't suppose there's any point suggesting 20mm or 1/72?
