And don't forget the companion volume detailing the victories of the Purple Frederick's Hussars. Just a title page at the moment . . . .World2dave wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 3:14 pm The Cavalry Defeats of the Gateway Army, May-June 1756, vols 1-4?
You'd need a lot of ink though.

Surely an egregious oversight on dear old Fred's part that purple was the one colour that none of his hussar regiments ever adopted?

I'm sure that the forthcoming Osprey "Underwear of Frederick the Great's Hussars" will refute that.

Just bought a couple of the GW painting handles. I laughed at these at first but I have to grudgingly admit that they are rather good if you are painting stuff on GW style bases. Might get one more as I like to paint in threes.

I seem to have bought two airforces in a period which is not on my list and a scale which I do not play. My willy of iron is feeling a bit rusty.
With our 2018 Christmas WOW game looming, Greg, who puts on the games and most of the planes asked us what we would like to do when the guns fell silent and Spanish flu descended upon the Western Front. There was clamour for 1920s and 1930s, then I pointed out that 2019 could be the start of a WWII series just like the WWI series we have all enjoyed for the last 4 years. This was received with unanimous approval.
I asked Greg what WOG planes he had for 1939 and he said he had a gaggle of Me109s, but no Poles or Froggies. So I undertook to buy FOUR froggies to help out, figuring that if 3 or four of us did the same the load might be spread.
It's really the fault of that alien in Adelaide. I now have nearly 20 planes heading my way.

Two things today. Courtesy of Northstar, a full platoon of Artizan Designs Late War Germans in winter gear for less than the cost of the Warlord plastic equivalents. That brings me up to 8 squads of Germans, excluding my DAK. I think I might have a Nazi jackboot fetish...... Still, not as unwholesome as a Freddy the Great fetish.
