Looking for a primer, it's the thick coat that has me worried. I don't want to obscure the detail.

Will it fill the sponge of shapeways plastic?

If so, all I need to get cookin is adviced from the Emperor or Essex about dremels.

Mitre 10 may have them too, some do. The sausage sizzle shops do too (Bummings)

That's an unfortunate name for a "sausage shop".

According to the safety data sheet the aerosol version is not an acid etch primer - https://is.gd/Dq4QSF
In contrast the brush on version is as it's 1-10% phosphoric acid - https://is.gd/z2Mxor
